Universities offer discounts for FPA members
Members of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) will be offered discounted course fees on their postgraduate studies after a deal between the body and five higher education providers.
There will be a 15% discount from Deakin University and Swinburne University, TAFE NSW and the University of Newcastle will provide a 10% discount, and Kaplan Professional will offer a 25% discount. They can be used by new, existing and part-time students.
Other universities are progressing approvals for course discounts, the FPA says.
The discounts are valid until the middle of next year, for Swinburne until the middle of 2022 and for Kaplan until 2023. FPA CEO Dante De Gori told insuranceNEWS.com.au the universities would review and assess the effectiveness of the agreements after a period, with each university specifying its own timeframe and the conditions for the discounts.
“This is a new initiative for many faculties and universities, some of whom have never given fixed discounts like this before,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
The discounts will be valuable as members try to meet their new education requirements under the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, he says.
