Industry’s inaugural conference looks ‘beyond the horizon’
The Council of Australian Life Insurers will hold a conference in Sydney next month – its first since the peak body was formed in 2022.
CALI says the April 2 event will bring together industry leaders, experts and stakeholders to discuss life insurance issues.
It will also feature a two-hour workshop to prepare for the upcoming review of the industry’s code of practice.
“We are at a pivotal moment in Australia,” association CEO Christine Cupitt said. “About 3.4 million people are underinsured to meet basic needs for income protection. That’s why we’re looking beyond the horizon to understand the changing needs of all Australians.”
MLC Life Insurance CEO and MD Kent Griffin said: “This conference will challenge us to think bigger and act bolder in how life insurance serves Australians. With real conversations, real collaboration and real outcomes, this is a unique opportunity to drive lasting change.”
Mr Griffin and TAL CEO Fiona Macgregor are among the conference’s speakers.
