Queensland fraudster gets lifetime ASIC ban
A Queensland man with a history of fraud convictions has been permanently banned from the financial services sector.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) uncovered Benjamin Fletcher’s past in a joint agency surveillance campaign with Queensland police to identify and remove a criminal syndicate from the corporate sector.
He was an authorised representative of Australian Warranty Network, which provides extended warranty insurance for vehicles and asset protection, from 2015 until last January.
In 2014, he was convicted twice for a number of fraud-related offences under the Queensland Criminal Code.
