The Financial Planning Association has welcomed the release of consultation papers on minimum education standards for advisers.

The papers cover professional development, foreign qualifications and the proposed professional year.

The association says its member survey on the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority’s exam guidance received more than 1000 responses.

It urges members to respond to the consultation immediately, given the tight timeframe for feedback.
