Departing Kelly congratulates FPA

Outgoing CEO Kerrie Kelly has farewelled the Financial Planning Association (FPA), saying the group has changed significantly over the past decade.

In her final commentary for the association magazine, she says members have improved their service and accountability and this was reflected in an improved reputation across the entire sector.

“There has been a discernable shift by member practitioners to greater professionalism.

“Australians now expect more from their financial planner, and the FPA and its members have been working hard to ensure they deliver what is being asked of them.”

Ms Kelly will leave the FPA at the end of February to take up the Executive Director’s role at the Insurance Council of Australia.

She says she hopes the momentum of positive change will further improve financial planning standards in 2006 and beyond.
