AMP wants lawsuits consolidated as more firms join fray
Slater & Gordon and Maurice Blackburn are the latest law firms to file a class action against AMP, which has called for a consolidation of the lawsuits it faces over alleged financial misconduct.
“AMP is vigorously defending all proceedings,” the financial services group says.
“We are hopeful these class actions can be consolidated in the Supreme Court in Sydney, which already has a well-progressed timeline, to provide the most efficient process and greater certainty for all involved.”
AMP now faces five class actions stemming from the second round of the royal commission on financial services misconduct, which alleged executives lied and engaged in deceptive practices for years.
