AIA is piloting a “door-to-door” claims service for Victorian cancer patients, to help them navigate the process and link them to other support services.

Claims on Wheels will be rolled out to other states if successful.

The free program gives clients personal claims consultants, who can also point them to other support services.

AIA Chief Retail Insurance Officer Pina Sciarrone says the pilot is about putting the customer at “the centre of everything we do”.

“We understand the financial and emotional stress that illness can put you and your family through, and the last thing you want to worry about is more paperwork,” she said. “So we thought about how we could help ease that burden for our clients.

“Claims on Wheels aims to give clients the best support and advice in their time of need.”
