AFA opens 2020 grants program

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has opened its 2020 Foundation Grants Program.

The program was launched last year, and invites AFA members to nominate local charities that would benefit from a donation. This year it will offer grants between $2000 and $5000 and is open until April 30.

“We are particularly pleased to be able to make some of our initial grants available to grassroots organisations in regional communities in Queensland, Western Australia and NSW,” AFA Foundation Chair Olivia Sarah-Le Lacheur said.

The five recipients each awarded a grant in the 2019 program were:

  • Tour de Cure, which raises funds for cancer research through cycling events
  • WA Child Safety Services, a charity aiming to prevent child abuse
  • Wyong Neighbourhood Centre, which runs programs to strengthen community wellbeing
  • BestLife Foundation, giving away-from-home experiences to children living with disability
  • Time for Kids, supporting children to help overcome disadvantage.

Members can nominate a charity at the AFA Foundation Grants Program page.
