Lloyd’s has appointed former London broker Jin-Yung Sun as its first General Representative for South Korea.

Mr Sun has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years as an underwriter and Lloyd’s broker.

Lloyd’s Head of Asia-Pacific Kent Chaplin says Mr Sun will represent Lloyd’s in discussions with local regulators and will build relationships in the region.

Expansion in emerging markets is a key objective of the Lloyd’s Vision 2025 strategy to be a global centre for specialist insurance and reinsurance.

Last November Lloyd’s appointed its first Country Manager for Dubai and its first General Representative for Mexico City.
