Munich Re has appointed Bernhard Kaufmann as Group Chief Risk Officer, effective from January 1.

He has worked for Munich Re since 2000, serving as CRO and head of integrated risk management with the company’s Ergo Insurance Group since 2008.

Mr Kaufmann succeeds Joachim Oechslin, who will join the Credit Suisse Group executive board from January 1.
