Aon hails ‘solid start’ to year
Aon has reported a net profit of $US315 million ($414 million) for the three months to March 31, down 4% on the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue for the quarter decreased 2% to $US2.8 billion ($3.7 billion).
CEO Greg Case describes it as “a solid start to the year”.
Commissions and fees fell 2%, but this was offset by 3% organic revenue growth. Retail brokerage organic revenue grew 4%, but Risk Solutions revenue dropped 1%.
Reinsurance organic revenue increased 1% for the quarter, which is attributed to growth from facultative placements, cedent demand in treaty placements and new business generation.
Retail organic revenue gained 4% in the Americas, reflecting record new business generation in the US.
International organic revenue grew 4%, largely due to growth across Asia and in New Zealand.
