AIR Worldwide sets up in Singapore

US catastrophe modeller AIR Worldwide has opened an office in Singapore to service the Asian insurance markets, including Australia.

The move follows expansion into in India in 2000, China in 2005 and Japan in 2008.

AIR Worldwide says its commitment to the region has grown in recent years with the release of several new products, including a cyclone model for India, a bushfire product for Australia, a crop insurance model for China and an update to its basinwide typhoon model for the northwest Pacific.

Business Development Manager Yen Chin, Client Relations Manager Ashish Jain and Senior Engineer, Research and Modelling Apoorv Dabral will staff the new office.
