Brett Clark, CEO and MD of TAL, is now giving evidence.

He says the three TAL case studies highlighted by the Hayne royal commission were "deeply disappointing" but that a subsequent review of claims practices shows there is not a culture of avoiding claims.

He says the COVID-19 outbreak is a "once in a generation challenge to our industry, and we must rise to the challenge".

Committee Chairman Tim Wilson says "putting it bluntly" Royal Commissioner Hayne "savaged" TAL in his findings.
