Suncorp dismisses Tyndall sale ‘speculation’

Suncorp has dismissed a report in the Australian Financial Review today that the company may sell its funds management unit Tyndall.

A spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au there is no truth in the report, describing it as “speculative”.

Morningstar analyst David Walker says he hasn’t heard anything about a potential sale of Tyndall and agrees the article is probably speculation.

“There may be something from [new Suncorp CEO] Patrick Snowball at the annual general meeting next week,” he said.

“At this stage it’s difficult to know what his intentions are. There are various vibes and rumours floating around and this is just the latest one.”
