Rhodian rolls out cyber underwriter

Rhodian has launched a cyber underwriting agency led by former Blue Zebra head Richard Smith.

Sync Underwriting, which will target SMEs, is the fifth Australian agency launched by Rhodian in the past two years.

CEO Mr Smith joins after five years running Blue Zebra. His previous experience includes time at Gallagher and as CEO at Queensland cyber insurer Edmund.

He says Sync has worked with capacity provider Tokio Marine Nichido “to develop a unique wording that positions us with strong differentiators.

Rhodian CEO Simon Lightbody says the launch comes “at exactly the right time”, as the cyber market matures.

“Given the rise in demand for cyber insurance protection, it was essential that Rhodian built a cyber agency that responded to the brokers’ need to present a comprehensive offering to their clients,” he said.
