NM eyes next growth phase as 20-year milestone reached

Specialist underwriting agency NM Insurance says it is “planning for the next 20 years and beyond” as it celebrates its first two decades of operation.

The Zurich-backed agency launched in April 2005 with a focus on recreational boat insurance in Australia.

It now specialises in motorbikes, marine, cargo and caravanning, and operates across Australia and New Zealand, with five offices and more than 100 staff.

CEO Lyndon Turner says the 20-year milestone is an opportunity to “reflect on how we’ve grown as a business ... We started with a strategy to offer premium coverage and service at competitive rates. That offer has not changed as NM Insurance has grown and diversified over the past two decades. It’s a privilege to lead such a brilliant team and work with some fantastic customers and partners.”

NM Insurance’s specialist brands include Nautilus Marine Insurance, Australian Caravan Insurance, National Motorcycle Insurance and Proteus Marine Insurance.

Head of client and market development Glen Schembri said: “Our success over the past 20 years has been built on the trust and support of our distribution partners – insurance brokers, networks and industry partners. Their commitment has shaped our journey.”
