Resilium goes live

Suncorp’s new authorised representative (AR) distribution network Resilium represents a “milestone” for the AR business model, its MD Gerard McDermott says.

The insurer bought the business and its 700 general insurance ARs from AMP last December for an undisclosed sum. It rebranded as Resilium in August before the official launch this month.

Mr McDermott says ARs are a growth sector in the insurance industry.

“With the size, strength and support of the Suncorp Group behind this brand, plus our ARs, we are excited about the future,” he said. “We’ve called the launch of this brand ‘the fresh face of general insurance in Australia’.”

Resilium ARs are employed in nearly 300 offices across Australia.
