QBE rebrands charity partnerships

The QBE Foundation will group its collaborations with Red Cross and Save the Children under a new Community Ready partnership banner.

The foundation has held five-year partnerships with the leading charity groups, channelling more than $US5.7 million ($8.49 million) – plus $US303,000 ($451,329) of employee donations – towards disaster relief and resilience projects.

It says these partnerships have delivered more than 29 programs across 22 countries, responded to 19 major disasters, and supported nearly 500,000 people.

It has highlighted youth-focused initiatives with the Red Cross’ Australian and Singapore chapters and Save the Children projects in the Philippines and Hong Kong as critical programs on this year’s agenda.

The projects include the delivery of family preparedness kits to households, workshops, funding to address poverty and consultation during extreme heat events.
