QBE has appointed Tracey Harris to the newly created role of Chief Governance and Executive Operations Officer, Australia Pacific.

Ms Harris, who started in the Sydney-based position last week, will lead Australia Pacific’s governance accountabilities and oversee legal, marketing, insights and first-line risk teams. She will also be responsible for managing the Office of the CEO Australia Pacific.

“Tracey brings more than 20 years of experience in insurance, health and emergency assistance organisations and an exceptional leadership track record,” QBE Australia Pacific CEO Sue Houghton said.

“Tracey is recognised as a highly engaged and strategic leader who builds a culture of success through critical thinking and focusing on people, performance and customer outcomes. These focuses closely align with QBE’s own and we’re excited to see these synergies unfold.”

Previously, Ms Harris was Sedgwick COO Australia and has held executive leadership roles at EML, Cover-More Group (Australia and China) and the Careflight Group.
