QBE has appointed Carolyn Scobie as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary following the resignation of Peter Horton.

Ms Scobie will begin the role on January 18. She was previously group general counsel for property company the Goodman Group, where she worked on legal matters across 16 countries and 800 entities.

She has extensive experience working for multinationals and expertise in compliance, regulatory matters, litigation and the complexity of multiple jurisdictions.

“Carolyn’s proven track record in leading a legal team across many different countries will be a great asset for QBE and we look forward to her insight and contribution as we continue to transform and grow our business,” Group CEO John Neal said.
