NRMA Insurance backs vulnerability support hub
IAG brand NRMA Insurance has partnered with the One Stop One Story Hub, which connects vulnerable people with a range of support services.
The hub, created by non-profit Thriving Communities Australia, enables companies’ front-line workers to make referrals via a streamlined system.
It helps people access support from various providers by explaining their domestic violence or financial hardship experiences only once.
This reduces the burden and complexity of contacting each organisation individually.
Thriving Communities CEO Ciara Sterling says many people are missing the support they are entitled to, including hardship assistance from companies, and the hub reduces access barriers.
“There’s often lack of awareness around what assistance is available and feelings of shame, stress and trauma that come with telling your story repeatedly,” she said.
NRMA Insurance CEO Julie Batch says the insurer is focused on identifying and supporting vulnerable customers and helping to eliminate financial abuse.
The insurer has introduced training for customer support teams to help them better recognise and help people in need.
“The One Stop One Story Hub is an innovative solution to make support more accessible and we are proud to be working in collaboration with other service providers to help our customers who are experiencing vulnerability,” Ms Batch said.
