Specialty insurer Newline Group is expanding its Australian operations with the opening of a Sydney office and the appointment of Nicholas Beswick as Head of Professional Indemnity. 

Newline Australia Insurance, headquartered in Melbourne, was established in 2006 as a service company acting as a coverholder for Lloyd’s syndicate 1218. 

“Establishing offices in key territories is part of our ongoing strategy to be closer to our distribution partners and clients,” Newline Group CEO Bob Pollock said. “Sydney represents an important market for Newline Australia, and having Nick on the ground will propel our growth while providing local service.” 

Mr Beswick has more than 30 years professional and financial lines experience and was most recently Ensurance Australia National Manager of Professional Risks. He will report to Head of Professional and Financial Lines Stephen Mullaly. 

“We are excited to expand into Sydney, a market in which we have strong, long-term relationships and are proud to support,” Newline Australia CEO Craig Rowsell said. “Nick’s deep expertise will enable us to continue customising insurance solutions to meet our clients’ unique challenges.”
