Lumley improves broker relations
Lumley Insurance has improved its relationship with brokers, according to its latest annual survey.
The survey team spoke to more than 1400 brokers nationally, who say their relationship with the insurer has improved during the past 12 months, with Brisbane reporting the best result – up 11%.
Material obtained by insuranceNEWS.com.au shows that brokers in Darwin and Newcastle have also reported good improvements in satisfaction with the insurer, both up 10%.
Lumley COO John Nagle says compared to the 2009 survey results, the insurer has seen “significant improvement” in the way brokers regard his company.
“We’ve been continually investing in our claims and underwriting services and it is pleasing to find that brokers continue to support our state-based operating model,” he said.
Lumley’s claims service achieved a big improvement in broker satisfaction.
Brisbane brokers reported a 22% improvement in the service with Townsville recording 20% and Darwin 17%.
Broker satisfaction levels with Lumley’s underwriting also reported double-digit growth in a number of major centres.
Canberra brokers reported a 19% improvement in satisfaction levels while Darwin was up 15% and Brisbane 14%.
Mr Nagle says brokers have reported Lumley is “easy to deal with” and that they find the insurer’s offerings are competitively priced.
“While the results have exceeded our expectations, we also had some excellent feedback with respect to areas of improvement,” he said.
“During the next 12 months we will continue to strive to focus on these areas to keep improving services to our brokers.”
