Landmark Insurance stays despite AWB takeover

Landmark Insurance will continue under the same brand after the takeover of its parent, AWB, by Canadian agribusiness group Agrium.

An AWB spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au there are no plans to sell the operation after the takeover.

“Landmark Insurance is a good profitable business,” he said. “We will continue to use the Landmark brand (for the insurance business).”

The company acts as an intermediary for WFI, CGU, NTI, Swann Insurance and NRMA Insurance.

It offers a wide range of products aimed at the rural sector including farm, broadacre crop, livestock and business insurance as well as commercial motor, home and contents and landlord insurance.

Life insurance is offered through Landmark by Axa Australia-owned Genesys Wealth Advisers.

Agrium completed the acquisition of AWB – formerly the Australian Wheat Board – earlier this month as part of a $1.23 billion takeover deal.
