IAA seeks MD to replace Kitchin

Insurance Advisernet Australia & New Zealand (IAA) has begun the search for a new MD following the resignation of Adrian Kitchin.

insuranceNEWS.com.au revealed in a Breaking News bulletin on Friday that Mr Kitchin has been appointed MD of Suncorp-owned authorised representative network Resilium.

He worked at IAA for almost nine years.

IAA Chairman Ian Carr told insuranceNEWS.com.au the search for a replacement began last week, shortly after Mr Kitchen resigned.

Mr Carr says he and the GMs will “hold the fort” in the meantime.

Mr Kitchin was IAA MD since 2012 and has more than 20 years’ industry experience.

Resilium has more than 700 authorised representatives. Suncorp Commercial Insurance CEO and Resilium Chairman Anthony Day says Mr Kitchin has “relationships with the all-important authorised representatives segment of the industry”.

“He was the outstanding candidate for this role, thanks to his extensive experience across a range of roles – MD, legal counsel and a variety of operational leadership responsibilities – with a series of corporate and mid-range insurance brokers and underwriters,” Mr Day said.

Former Resilium MD Gerard McDermott was appointed Suncorp EGM Personal Insurance Distribution in February.
