Pietro Toffanello, MD of Gen Re Australia, and Property/Casualty Regional Manager Asia-Pacific, will leave Australia for London in August when he joins the Gen Re Lloyd’s syndicate Faraday.

He will become CEO of Faraday in March next year, when Paul Ceurvorst retires.

Faraday comprises Syndicate 435 and casualty reinsurer Faraday Re.

The Lloyd’s syndicate underwrites aviation, casualty in North American specialist lines and UK liability, plus property lines such as direct and facultative and treaty.

Mr Toffanello became MD Australia in January 2012, moving from London, where he was Gen Re’s regional manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He took on the additional role of Asia-Pacific regional manager last July.
