Gallagher has acquired Melbourne-based JLS Insurance Consulting, founded by Jodi Sharman in 2004.

Gallagher says JLS has long term relationships with large and prominent Australian businesses and the team of seven, which will move to its East Melbourne branch, has a “strong track record” of client retention.

“Jodi and the team have built an impressive portfolio over the past few decades and the merging of our businesses will allow us to learn from each other and use our combined skills and experience to grow in Victoria,” Gallagher Australia CEO Sarah Lyons said.

JLS will now use the Gallagher brand and offer its clients claims advocacy, placement capabilities and global markets.

Gallagher provides tailored risk management and insurance products and solutions to clients ranging from small to medium enterprises through to large multi-national corporations, as well as selected affinity partners and trade and industry associations.

Gallagher has announced five acquisitions in the past six months, including Torquay-based National Insurance Group in July.

Ms Sharman, previously an authorised representative of Marsh, was a finalist at the 2020 Advisr insurance broker awards.
