Zurich offices in Australia and New Zealand raised more than $19,000 during the group’s Global Community Week.

The insurer’s Z-Foundation matched the employees’ total, meaning $38,000 will be presented to groups including The Smith Family, the Cancer Council and children’s charity Variety.

Country Head of HR Michelle Auer says last month’s fundraiser was “an outstanding success”.

“Both Zurich and our strategic charity partners look forward to seeing it continue to be a much-valued annual event in our community calendar.”

In 2011 the Z-Foundation contributed about $5 million to community initiatives.
