Zurich Australia has made two appointments in its marine claims team.

Margaret Dewes becomes Technical Claims Manager after 12 years running a marine insurance consultancy specialising in average adjusting and technical support.

She has also worked for adjusting company Charles Taylor and has experience in hull and machinery losses, hull liabilities and cargo.

Ms Dewes will support Garry Chalkley, who has been promoted to Technical Lead, managing the technical marine team which handles large and complex claims.

Mr Chalkley has been part of the marine operation for more than 30 years and has specialised in the claims function at a national level.

“Garry’s many years of experience means he is well placed to assist with any technical issues and raise the profile of Zurich’s marine claims capability within the market,” EGM Claims Stephen Brooks said.
