Zurich pitches in for autism fundraiser

Zurich will team up with some of the biggest names in rugby league this week with a goal of raising $50,000 for an autism charity.

The company’s executive group and 200 business partners will attend a fundraiser hosted by the Ricky Stuart Foundation in Sydney on Wednesday.

Guests will include rugby personalities Ricky Stuart, Steve Roach, Paul Sironen, Brett Mullins, Ben Elias, Dean Pay, Mark Coyne and Andrew Johns. Journalist and sports reporter Ben Fordham will MC the evening.

Zurich is supporting the foundation’s bid to fund after-care for autistic people “and families who struggle daily with autism”, CEO General Insurance Daniel Fogarty says.

“We see first-hand the daily challenges and the financial and emotional toll [the condition] can take.”

The event will include an auction, with items including corporate tickets to the final State of Origin match, lunch with former “boiler room” fraudster turned motivational speaker Jordan Belfort, a celebrity golf package and a 2GB radio advertising offer.
