Zurich has appointed Matthew O’Sullivan to run its Australian marine business.

Mr O’Sullivan has more than 20 years’ insurance industry experience, having worked with leading global reinsurers and intermediaries including Munich Re and Aon Benfield.

He will begin his role as Head of Marine, Property and Engineering in January.

Zurich says the appointment reflects its commitment to the marine segment.

Mr O’Sullivan says he is looking forward to delivering Zurich’s “continuing strategy to provide innovative and progressive solutions in marine and transport insurance”.
