Zurich New Zealand’s head of corporate underwriting and deal management Brett Wainhouse has been promoted to GM General Insurance.

He joined the insurer in 2014 as underwriting manager for financial lines and casualty, and was promoted two years later to the corporate underwriting position.

Mr Wainhouse has previously worked for Marsh in London and New Zealand, Ace Insurance and Aon in a career spanning more than 20 years.

“He brings significant experience to the role and a unique perspective from his time as both a broker and an underwriter,” Chief Distribution Officer General Insurance Steve Ord said.
