Youi tops Canstar home insurer awards
Youi has won Canstar’s 2020 “Most Satisfied Customers – Home Insurer Award” in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
In SA the Royal Automobile Association (RAA) retained the award, while RAC claimed the gong for Western Australia.
The three providers are all repeat winners from the inaugural awards last year.
Youi CEO Hugo Schreuder says the company is proud to have managed a “clean sweep” across all three eastern Australian states.
“It’s great to win awards such as this, as it lets us know that we’re doing the right thing for our customers, which is what we strive to do every day,” he said.
Canstar surveyed 5295 policyholders in February to determine their satisfaction with customer service, value for money, communication, comprehensiveness of cover and cost of their home or contents insurance.
RAA Insurance Chief Executive David Russell says winning the Canstar awards two years running is “a major honour” for RAA.
Customer service and value for money were the two most important drivers of satisfaction for those surveyed.
“Consumers have put less weight on their actual premiums, and more weight on value for money,” Canstar executive Steve Mickenbecker said.
NSW and Victorian customers had lower overall satisfaction scores than other states, according to the survey. Premiums remain a sore point for consumers, with the lowest satisfaction score of all the variables in every state.
Older consumers were generally more satisfied with their insurer than younger consumers.
