YIPs welcomes new leadership team
Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs) have appointed a new Australasian management team and directors following this month’s annual general meeting.
Justin Micale, a YIPs member for seven years and Principal, Finpro Specialty Practice at Marsh, has taken over as president from Protecsure’s Jackson McDonald, who has completed a two-year term and has been with YIPs for more than six years.
“YIPs has played a pivotal role in shaping my professional journey, and I feel privileged to lead the organisation, carrying forward the remarkable work achieved by Jackson and the entire team,” Mr Micale said.
“YIPs has afforded me invaluable opportunities and helped facilitate meaningful connections with senior leaders that would have otherwise been inaccessible.”
In other changes, Hayley Grima, becomes Treasurer, Arlyne Anton has been appointed Company Secretary and New Zealand-based Kerry Murray steps into the Vice President role.
YIPs was founded in Melbourne in 2011 and has since expanded across the country and in New Zealand. Its membership includes underwriters, brokers, claims personnel, risk managers, loss adjusters, insurance lawyers, accountants and other service providers.
“I am so proud of the organisation it has become,” outgoing President Mr McDonald said. “YIPs now has 11 branches across Australia and New Zealand, over 100 volunteers and more than 5000 members – a massive achievement for an organisation 100% operated by volunteers.”
The team handing over the reins also includes Treasurer Frances Moir, Legal & Compliance Officer Lara Douglas and Vice President (New Zealand) Charlotte Robertson.
