YIPs postpones April’s NT Insurance Conference

Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs) has postponed this year’s NT Insurance Conference due to uncertainty over state border restrictions and corporate policies restricting group gatherings.

The conference had been scheduled for April 28-30 at the Darwin Convention Centre with an “Outback” themed gala dinner at SKYCITY Darwin Casino.

The annual event had already been brought forward from October after the 2020 conference was also interrupted by COVID-19.

“As your safety is our highest priority, we will not be announcing a new date until interstate and territory travel is unrestricted and company policies once again allow for conference attendance,” YIPs NT says.

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the founding “fishing tour” for the event, which now boasts more than 40 corporate sponsors, 350 registered attendees, 35 industry expert speakers, nightly networking, an awards program and dedicated app and social media program.

The decision to postpone was made in consultation with major sponsors and YIPs says it is committed to holding the insurance education event, which is delivered free of charge to all insurance professionals.

“We look forward to announcing new dates and coming together to celebrate the community spirit and ‘roll up your sleeve’ attitude that makes the Territory one of the most unique places to live and work,” it says.
