WTP appoints Technical Product Director in Brisbane
World Travel Protection, part of Zurich-owned Cover-More, has promoted Alex Laidlaw to the role of Technical Product Director.
WTP provides emergency assistance, including medical evacuation, repatriation and mental health support, and also trains businesses to mitigate risks before employees depart.
Brisbane-based Mr Laidlaw, who has worked at WTP for 18 months, will oversee various product strategies and be the lead liaison between clients, sales and third-party suppliers. He will oversee WTP Travel Risk Management (TRM), Risk Intelligence and other solutions.
“I’m excited to be leading the overall TRM product strategy, gathering feedback and engaging customers regarding product enhancements and the optimum rollout of features,” Mr Laidlaw said.
“I am look forward to working with WTP’s global Customer Success team and cultivating excellent commercial working relationships with all vendors.”
Mr Laidlaw reports to CEO Adrian Leach.
In North America, WTP appointed Mike Nole Executive VP Sales and Marketing. He will lead the US and Australian sales team.

WTP opened a Brisbane Command Centre last year, bringing together a team of expert medical, security, logistical and case management personnel. It also has centres in Toronto, Shanghai, Buenos Aires and is expanding to the UK.
