Wotton + Kearney expands property, construction, energy team

Insurance specialist law firm Wotton + Kearney has made four new appointments to its Property, Construction and Energy team, having announced two partner promotions to the division in June.

Partner Naraya Lamart joined last week from HFW and is based in Brisbane where she will lead the firm’s Marine and Transport practice within the Property, Construction and Energy team.

She has experience in advising on casualty crisis management, ship arrests, judicial sales of vessels, cargo claims, marine insurance advisory work, logistics and chain of responsibility advisory work, and charterparty litigation and negotiation.

Special Council Edward Burrell, who will be based in Sydney, starts today. He has experience in advising on some of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects, having most recently worked in-house at Lendlease as senior legal counsel.

Senior Associates Rachel White and Jacinta Fox, based in Sydney and Melbourne respectively, joined last month.

Ms White, who was most recently with Colin Biggers & Paisley, is known for her expertise in property and construction professional indemnity and has experience advising on coverage disputes and large-scale construction matters.

Ms Fox specialises in commercial property subrogated recoveries and held a similar title in her last posting with Lander & Rogers.

“Attracting senior and emerging talent across the breadth of our Property, Construction and Energy practice is a good indicator of the cohesion we’ve managed to build with key clients in these sectors over the last few years, and complements the wide range of market-leading claims that the team is engaged on,” Property, Construction and Energy Leader Adam Chylek said.
