Wotton + Kearney announces finalists for Turning Point award
Wotton + Kearney (W+K) has named the five finalists of its inaugural Turning Point competition.
The specialised insurance law firm announced the event in August to challenge the “industry’s most creative and progressive thinkers” to explore new technologies in the property, energy and infrastructure market.
The nominees for the award are Swisse Re Senior Risk Engineer Adi Mehta, Liberty Special Markets’ Nathan McLellan, Chubb Graduate Patrick Martin, Integra Technical’s Sumeet Bhardwaj and CCI’s Trudie Moeller.
Each finalist will be paired with a senior W+K property, energy and infrastructure lawyer to co-author a 2000-word white paper on their chosen topic.
The completed white papers will be judged by a panel comprised of Chubb Australia and New Zealand Country President Peter Kelaher, GCUBE Underwriting Founder and CEO Fraser McLachlan, and W+K Partner Adam Chylek, with the winner announced on June 19 next year.
“We were very impressed by the high calibre of submissions and the breadth of issues they addressed. That made it difficult to settle on our five finalists. In the end, though, the issues they raised resonated with the judging panel,” Mr Chylek said.
Each finalist will receive travel vouchers to the value of $1000, with the competition’s winner awarded a trip to a key industry event amounting to $10,000.
