World Travel Protection appoints investigations manager

World Travel Protection (WTP), owned by Zurich Insurance Group, says Phil Peart has been appointed Asia Pacific Senior Investigations Manager and will head the businesses new Special Investigations Unit.

Mr Peart, who has 40 years’ experience as an investigator, will report to WTP GM of Global Security Services Rodger Cook.

“I am looking forward to working closely with our clients to identify risks and help reduce their exposure to fraud, insider threat and malicious acts,” he said.

“While my contribution to World Travel Protection will be wide and varied, I especially look forward to establishing a formidable cornerstone for the delivery of investigation services globally.”

WTP says travel insurers handling claims can face a lack of credible information, excessive claim costs, investigation fees and the remote incident locations.

The Special Investigations Unit, established this year, taps into historical data and years of experience to assist clients in identifying fraud while also delivering savings. It will provide a full spectrum of investigative services, WTP says.
