Willis Towers Watson (WTW) says Anthony Smit has joined from Sedgwick to take up the role of Cyber Risk Consultant, a position that sits within the broker’s Australasia Financial Lines (FINEX) team.

Mr Smit was Sedgwick APAC cyber product head with responsibilities for triaging major cyber claims and assessing the resulting financial losses on behalf of clients and insurers.

Australasian Cyber and Technology Risk Team Leader Ben Di Marco says Mr Smit’s appointment will build on the broker’s cyber offerings and expertise.

“[He] has a rare blend of expertise in cyber risk quantification, incident response, claims management, insurance and reporting,” Mr Di Marco said.

“His skillset will help WTW clients across their full journey of improving cyber risk awareness, undertaking exposure analysis and enhancing cyber resilience through risk management and insurance.

“He will also have a leading role in the development of our risk and analytics service.”
