Victorian broker Bunmi Ajayi has been named individual authorised broker of the year by Westcourt General.

It is the second honour in as many months for Mr Ajayi, an authorised representative with the broker group.

In September he won a $20,000 business development trip to the US after being named broker of the year by the National Insurance Brokers Association.

The latest award was presented at Westcourt’s annual conference on Hamilton Island last week.

The group has adopted the term “authorised broker” in place of “authorised representative”, to more clearly define its intermediaries’ role.

Director Jeff Hollands says the change has been well received by insurers and Westcourt members.

Other award winners were:

• Authorised broker rising star: Roxanne Heibloem, Roxanne Insurance Brokers, Queensland
• Authorised broker staff member of the year: Anita Dixon, Dixon Insurance Services, Queensland
• Westcourt staff member of the year: Wendy Foweraker, SA.
