Vietnam to host AICLA’s 2017 Asian Claims Convention

The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) is expecting record audiences for its 2017 Asian Claims Convention in Ho Chi Minh City in April.

CEO Tony Libke says the annual event is attracting a growing number of adjusters each year from around the region and global insurance centres.

“The changing location each year gives delegates an opportunity to experience the amazing variety of loss adjusting,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “So far we’ve held the convention in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Phuket, and we’re expecting the largest city in Vietnam to provide an equally interesting cultural and business experience.”

Mr Libke says loss adjusters “gain a great deal of specialised information from top-class experts speaking at these conventions”.

“As a result, more and more loss adjusters and other claims professionals are coming from across Asia and from around the world, including Australia and New Zealand, to update their knowledge and network with their peers.

“While the primary purpose of the convention is to share knowledge and expertise, the Asian Claims Convention is also being recognised as an ideal way for adjusters to learn about Asia’s expanding economies. It’s helping to forge new relationships and even build business opportunities in the region.”

The theme of the 2017 convention is The Interconnected World of Claims, with topics to be covered including piracy and other marine insurance claims issues in Asia, environmental pollution, fraud, cyber crime, claims issues arising from the engineering and oil and gas sectors, construction liability, travel insurance, fidelity, business interruption and emerging risks.

The Asian Claims Convention will be held at the historic Caravelle Saigon Hotel on April 19-21. Details can be obtained by emailing adminoffice@aicla.org
