Vero tool aims to support ‘trusted adviser’ role
Vero says its new Risk Profiler tool will enable brokers to better assist clients in understanding key insurance risks and preventative actions, helping to enhance their advisory role.
Research by the Suncorp insurer this year highlighted benefits from building a relationship with clients as a trusted adviser, particularly as more SMEs cover some of their requirements through the direct market
“Our research indicates less than one quarter of SMEs see their brokers as trusted advisers,” Vero EGM Andrew Mair said. “The Risk Profiler tool helps to bridge this gap by providing action-orientated advice to help clients reduce key insurance risks relevant to their industry.”
The Vero 2019 SME Index found that brokers who provide risk profiling and management services are 72% more likely to win that SME’s trust.
The online tool, accessible by any device, features “clean and simple information” to present directly to clients. Vero says it is one of several recent initiatives.
The insurer, which sponsors the National Insurance Brokers Association award for Young Professional Broker of the Year, has launched an alumni group to connect past winners and most recent finalists and created a four-day leadership and mentorship experience in Outback Australia.
Vero has also relaunched the Suncorp Learning Campus as a subscription-style platform providing access to more than 1000 continuing professional development training courses.
