Vero’s RM Advancer risk management and innovation awards open for nominations next week.

The annual scheme recognises risk management achievements and innovation among Vero clients.

Winners across three categories – property, liability and risk – will receive risk management consulting hours from Vero’s risk engineering team.

Suncorp Commercial Insurance EGM Commercial Portfolio Darren O’Connell says the awards recognise the ways insurers, brokers and clients can work together to minimise risk.

“Business owners are increasingly aware that risk management is a critical investment and are seeking out advice to manage their risks,” he said.

“By working in partnership with brokers and insurers to manage risks, many businesses are able to broaden their insurance coverage and reduce their premiums.”

Last year’s winners were Stadiums Queensland, for flood mitigation works at Suncorp Stadium and Brisbane Tennis Centre, Echo Entertainment, for plans to minimise slips and falls at Star casino, and Elders, for initiatives to improve driver safety.

Nominations open on July 1 and close on August 29.
