Vero has announced 11 finalists for this year’s RMAdvancer risk management awards.

“The risk management strategies implemented by finalists are diverse, ranging from ensuring the highest-fire-rated materials are used in construction to recycling polystyrene packaging to reduce fire risk and environmental waste,” Suncorp Commercial Insurance EGM Commercial Portfolio and Underwriting Management Darren O’Connell said.

“The interest from clients and brokers in this year’s awards has been unprecedented. This reflects not only the high standard of risk management being undertaken, but also the effort brokers and clients have put into having their achievements recognised through the awards.”

Finalists and their brokers can attend the award ceremony on October 24 at Sydney’s Park Hyatt Hotel. Winners will receive consulting hours from Vero risk engineers.

The finalist in three categories are:

• Property: Interflow, Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group, Stadiums Queensland and Village Roadshow Theme Parks;
• Liability: Amalgamated Holdings, Bakers Delight, Echo Entertainment Group and Sydney Fish Market;
• Motor vehicle: Elders, PFD Foodservices and Optus.
