Tabcorp is among the winners in this year’s Vero RMAdvancer Awards, with the betting giant taking out the liability risk category for its efforts to improve staff wellbeing.

Timber company AKD Softwoods’ efforts to reduce the fire threat at processing plants won the property risk category, and facility services manager OCS Group’s commercial fleet safety plan took the award for motor vehicle risk.

A record 13 finalists competed for the annual awards, which recognise Vero clients’ risk management achievements and innovation.

“There has been an enormous amount of outstanding work undertaken by customers, brokers and risk managers,” Suncorp Commercial Insurance EGM Commercial Portfolio Darren O’Connell said. “They have led the way for other companies to ensure they have the same strong risk management culture.”

The winners were named last week at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, with the event also a celebration of the awards’ 10th anniversary.
