Vero announces risk awards finalists
A record 13 finalists in three categories will compete for this year’s Vero RMAdvancer Awards.
The scheme, which recognises clients’ risk management achievements and innovation, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The awards will be announced at a gala dinner at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art on October 28.
The judging panel is comprised of Nina Abbey from Elders, Stacey Conlin from the Australian Red Cross, David Howard from Buller Ski Lifts, Louise Longley from NAB and Sharon Newnam from Monash University’s Accident Research Centre.
Winners will receive a choice of 200,000 Qantas Aquire points or risk management consulting hours from the Vero team.
The categories and finalists are:
- Property: Unitywater, Murray Goulburn, AKD Softwoods, Adelaide Brighton, Wesfarmers;
- Liability: Tabcorp, Interflow, Scouts Australia NSW, Stadiums Queensland, Amalgamated Holdings;
- Motor vehicle: OCS, Sunshine Coast Councils, O’Brien Glass.
“These finalists have all demonstrated outstanding ingenuity and resourcefulness to implement leading-edge risk management programs,” Suncorp Commercial Insurance EGM Commercial Portfolio Darren O’Connell said.
“There’s no better time than the 10th anniversary celebrations to reiterate the importance and value of risk management, and that it requires effective collaboration between brokers, customers and insurers.”
