Outstanding brokers and underwriting agents will have the summer break to compile their entries for the prestigious Val Baker Memorial Award.

Jointly sponsored by Gold Seal and the Steadfast Group, the award was launched last year to honour the late Gold Seal founder.  It is open to all Australian brokers and underwriting agents, and entries close on February 6.

The winner will be announced at the Steadfast Convention in Adelaide on April 18-21.

The prize includes a trip to London, an introduction to Lloyd’s operations, a short course at the Chartered Insurance Institute and learning activities with key underwriters and brokers.

Gold Seal MD Sheila Baker, Valerie’s sister, says the achievements and calibre of last year’s applicants was truly impressive.
