The annual Valerie Baker Memorial Award is now open, giving brokers the chance to win a trip to the London market.

The award recognises excellence in the general insurance intermediary sector.

In London the winner will meet senior managers at Lloyd’s and experience tailored learning activities with key underwriters and brokers.

The award is sponsored by Gold Seal, the Steadfast Group and Austbrokers & IBNA Member Services, and presented in conjunction with Lloyd’s Australia.

Selection criteria include ethics and values, business success, client relationships, teamwork, innovation, entrepreneurship and industry contribution.

Last year’s winner, Daniel Bullock of Safeguard Insurance Brokers in Adelaide, has encouraged brokers to nominate.

“The contacts I have made both here in Australia and in London, and their willingness to assist me, was an experience in itself,” he said.
