Gold Seal and Steadfast have named three finalists for this year’s Valerie Baker Memorial Award, with the winner to visit the London insurance market.

The finalists are:

• Julie Pernecker of All Parks Insurance
• Emily Winwood of Dual
• Fintan Magee of Network Insurance Group.

The award recognises excellence in the intermediary sector, including broking and underwriting agencies.

The winner will receive business-class airfares to London, accommodation, attendance at a Chartered Insurance Institute short course, focused learning activities with key underwriters and brokers, and meetings with senior managers at Lloyd’s.

Gold Seal MD Sheila Baker says the calibre of nominations was excellent, and the award is a chance “to showcase the fantastic talent we have in Australia to the London market”.

The award honours Ms Baker’s late sister Valerie, who founded Gold Seal.

It will be presented at the Annual Steadfast Convention on April 18-21.

The judges are Ms Baker, Edgewise Insurance Brokers Chairman Gary Seymour, representing Steadfast, and Lloyd’s General Representative for UK and Ireland Keith Stern.
